A classic Grade I listed building designed by Nash in the 1820s that houses state-of-the-art facilities for this leading independent scientific body. The works included the refurbishment and fit out of some very special spaces within the occupied building such as the Wellcome Trust Lecture Theatre and City of London Rooms.
Through installation of new heating, cooling, lighting and audio-visual equipment, the History of Science Centre library was made suitable for visitors, seminars and receptions. The main project challenge was threading the new services through the historic fabric, often hidden behind ornately decorated and retained finishes.
